Enjoy the Holidays AND Run your Business too

The holiday season is a funny time of the year for business owners, especially if you’re a service based company. People are buying more, spending with less inhibitions, and we’re all encouraged to sell more, to make offers, to create a holiday reason for buying.

Yet when I think about what I want to focus on and enjoy about the holidays, it’s not about making lots of sales and being on the computer creating Facebook ads. I want to help people create spaces to celebrate in and hunker down in for the winter. I want to focus on appreciating the clients I have and serving them the best I can.

Knowing what I really want this season helps me decide how I’m going to approach my marketing and how to organize my projects for the next 6 weeks. I know that I’m going to be pulled here and there for fun family activities to get trees, see Santa and just enjoy the light displays around town. I want my business to support both what fulfills me professionally and personally. Once again it’s all about priorities. It’s about deciding whats important and pursuing those things with energy, gusto and purpose and letting the noise of the season be just that: noise. I don’t have to follow the holiday selling spree. I can still sell, but from my place of peace and purpose.

I hope you, too, can find a place of peace and purpose this holiday both professionally and personally.
